Beth-El Center Receives Funding from the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal
Beth-El Center recently received a $5,000.00 donation from the Archbishop's Annual Appeal through its Vicariate Outreach Program.
This funding will be used to support the operation of the Beth-El Center's emergency homeless shelter, food programs and support services for men, women, veterans and families in the Milford area who are in crisis. Additionally, it will support the Center's outreach and diversion efforts which work to prevent hunger and homelessness in our community.
"Beth-El Center is very grateful to receive funding from the Archdiocese of Hartford," says Jennifer Paradis, Executive Director of Beth-El Center. "As so many households are impacted by illness, low wages, inflation and loss of hope, the basic needs of our community continue to grow. This funding helps the Beth-El Center continue to respond to the increased demand for food, stable housing and support services. The Center continues to serve as the light needed to get our clients through difficult times."
The community's need for food and housing is on the rise. Beth-El Center's Soup Kitchen is forecasted to serve more meals this year than it did last year or in 2020. The Center is assisting more individuals, families and veterans in our emergency shelter than in the past two years. And our Outreach and Engagement program has helped more un-housed individuals find shelter or permanent housing this year than in 2021.
"As we the prolonged fallout from the pandemic, our neighbors continue to experience hardships. This funding helps us respond to those who are reaching out for critical assistance," says Paradis.
