Call 2-1-1! A New Way to Serve Those in Need of Housing and Shelter

Callers in need of housing or shelter will now call 2-1-1 to reach a trained Housing Specialist who will perform an initial assessment, make referrals as needed and when appropriate, schedule a community level appointment with a duty services coordinator. This does not guarantee immediate shelter or housing placement.

This protocol is intended to save those in need from calling or visiting multiple agencies to find a resolution to their crisis. It was developed by a multi-town, multi-agency committee and approved by the State Department of Housing in response to a state-wide mandate to coordinate services for people experiencing a housing-related crisis.
