Local Volunteers Work on Beautification Project at Beth-El Center
On Saturday, October 21, 2017, over twenty people including members of the Milford and Orange Lions Club and local volunteers from CT Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield participated in a one-day beautification project at the Beth-El Center.
"We were thrilled when the Lions Clubs in conjunction with Anthem offered to support us as part of their community service project," says Jennifer Paradis, Beth-El Center director of facilities and programs who coordinated the project. "We're very grateful to all the volunteers who gave up their Saturday to work so hard on giving the Beth-El Center's property a face lift."
With plantings, mulch and other resources donated by John Clark's Landscaping of Orange, CT and Filanowski Farms of Milford, CT, volunteers trimmed trees and bushes and mulched Beth-El Center's property facing New Haven Avenue and near its main and soup kitchen entrances. They also planted perennials and cleaned the Center's playground.
The volunteers also donated ShopRite gift cards to Beth-El Center's soup kitchen.
